There are two types of lasers for carbon dioxide laser marking machines, one is a metal radio frequency tube (that is, a metal tube), and the other is a glass tube. So what is the difference between the two?
1. Different cooling methods
Metal tubes are divided into air-cooled and water-cooled types. In fact, water-cooled RF tubes are more stable and have a longer service life. However, because the water-cooled type requires an additional chiller, which not only increases the cost, but also takes up space, it is generally air-cooled, and the metal radio frequency tube is air-cooled to ensure long-term trouble-free and stable operation;
The glass tube is water-cooled. Because the temperature has a great influence on the glass tube, it may not emit light or emit light intermittently when the working time is long or the water temperature is high. Continuous working has a greater impact on the quality of the product.
2. Spot effect
The light spot emitted by the metal tube is round and uniform, and the divergence angle is small. The fineness of the light spot is more than 3 times that of the glass tube, high precision, small heat diffusion area, and can engrave/cut very fine works;
The spot pattern of the light emitted by the glass tube is far less than that of the radio frequency tube, and the divergence angle is relatively large, the emitted light spot is relatively large, the focusing spot is relatively large, the accuracy is poor, the light is unstable (uneven light intensity, sometimes no light), heat The diffusion area is large, the cutting edge melts, and the blackening is obvious, and the marking accuracy is relatively poor.
3. Stability
The metal tube is a fully sealed metal tube with good stability and maintenance-free. It uses a low-voltage power supply, which directly avoids some of the disadvantages caused by the use of high-voltage power supplies;
The glass tube uses a high-voltage power supply. In addition to being unstable, there is a certain degree of danger. Working for a long time makes the power supply easy to aging, and has great interference to the control system, such as improper operation, it is easy to burn the main board, and it is more vulnerable to voltage. Affect and damage its normal function.
4. Service life
The service life of the metal pipe can reach more than 45,000 hours, generally can be used for 6 years, inflated can be used repeatedly, without replacement;
The glass tube is only used for about 2500 hours. Generally, a glass tube needs to be replaced in about half a year. It cannot be reused and needs to be replaced with a new one.
5. Price
Metal tubes are much more expensive than glass tubes.
